Gerakini is a seaside village located between Kassandra and Sithonia, just 65 km from Thessaloniki. This small resort is surrounded by pine forests and olive groves, offering stunning views of the Toroneos Gulf.
The village gets its name from the Greek word "γερακίνα," which means emale peregrine falcon. Here, you can visit the Orthodox Church of Saint Theodore, built in a classic style. The surrounding area also features archaeological finds, including remnants of Roman and Byzantine settlements.
Gerakini Beach boasts a long stretch of soft sand and crystal-clear waters. The sea is usually calm, without strong waves, and during the summer, the water warms up to 25 degrees Celsius thanks to the hot Mediterranean climate.
The beach is public and never feels overcrowded, even during peak season, allowing visitors to relax comfortably with their own beach gear. It's especially delightful to watch the sunsets as the sun paints the horizon over Kassandra and Mount Olympus.
The beach is equipped with showers, changing cabins, and a lifeguard service. Sun loungers are provided by the nearby hotels and bars. A variety of apartments, hotels, and villas are available for rent.
In the village, you'll find bars, tavernas, and grill restaurants where you can enjoy fresh seafood and traditional Greek dishes. There are also shops and souvenir stores selling handmade crafts and mementos.
Gerakini Beach offers a range of water activities. In the eastern part of the beach, you can rent equipment for sports like snorkeling, flyboarding, wakeboarding, and windsurfing. You can also go water skiing, jet skiing, or riding a pedal boat. The diving center organizes courses for both adults and children. Just 1.5 km east of Gerakini Beach, there is a secluded rocky beach hidden behind cliffs, as well as a camping area with bungalows.
