How to get

The main attraction of the village of Loutra Agia Paraskevi is the Church of Saint Paraskeva, from whom the village gets its name. Located on a hilltop, the church is surrounded by greenery and offers stunning views of the sea and nearby landscapes, with the air filled with the scents of wax, honey, and pine. The stone fence around the church is adorned with mosaic images of saints, beautifully illuminated in the evenings. Inside, a carved wooden iconostasis holds old icons, including a miraculous icon of Paraskeva, where visitors can light candles in prayer.

Saint Paraskeva

Saint Paraskevi of Iconium, also known as Paraskeva Pyatnitsa, was born in a noble family in Asia Minor during the reign of Emperor Diocletian. From a young age, she chose a life of asceticism, devoting herself to spreading the Gospel.

During the Christian persecutions, she was captured, tortured, and eventually beheaded. It’s believed that her wounds were miraculously healed in prison and that the fire meant to burn her caused no harm. According to legend, the Temple of Apollo collapsed when her persecutor attributed her recovery to pagan gods. This same persecutor met his death after her beheading. Saint Paraskeva is venerated as a healer, and her feast day is celebrated on November 10th (October 28th on the Julian calendar).

Agia Paraskevi Thermal Spa

Loutra Agia Paraskevi is a small resort village located in the southern part of the Kassandra Peninsula. It’s famous for its natural beauty and healing thermal springs, discovered in 1941. Since then, many visitors have come here, drawn by the unique opportunities for relaxation and wellness. In 2000, a modern spa center was built here, offering treatments that use thermal waters.

The landscape around the resort is rich with pine forests, and the mild climate and proximity to the sea make this place especially popular from late June to August. In high season, air temperatures reach 28–30°C, while the water warms to 21–24°C. Local beaches offer options for water sports and peaceful seaside relaxation along the Aegean Sea, and the village invites visitors to taste local fresh honey.
