Ksenia beach, located in the Paliuri area, is one of the most stunningly beautiful beaches in Halkidiki. It features the classic features of a memorable holiday, from beach bars and clean sand to water entertainment and of course, awe-inspiring views.
Many consider the part of the coast between Paliuri and Pefkohori to be the most picturesque on Kassandra. In this area, you can find the Chrousso and Xenia bays, the latter stretching for 3 kilometers and protected from the winds. In the late 1980s, the only cafe-bar on the beach was named Xenia; although the cafe is no longer operating, the name has stuck and is used to refer to the entire beach today.
The beautiful views and lush greenery of Ksenia beach make it a desirable destination. The immense pines here are almost touching the sea, while the majestic mount athos can be seen in the horizon. It’s only downside is the stone slabs at the entrance to the water, but special slippers make it safe to swim.
The shoreline is lined with fine, light sand and the sea is quite shallow. It is only 30 m from the shore until the depth starts to increase. The sea is always calm, making it a perfect spot for families to enjoy a holiday. However, there can be a lot of people during peak season, especially on days when pleasure boats from other resorts dock at the pier.
Ksenia beach is a sprawling area with a vast selection of bars. Particularly popular are Koursaros, Lefki Ammos, and Cabana beach bar — especially with the younger generation. If you want to make sure you have a sunbed available, it is recommended to book ahead of time by phone. Big parties with top djs are organised frequently. The prices of drinks vary — there are bars suitable for all budgets!
Various water sports are available to visitors, and there are also showers and changing cabins on the beach.
At Ksenia beach you can rent sun loungers and umbrellas. Certain beach bars offer you the option of buying a beverage and using a sun lounger, while other places provide you with dishes or drinks for at least 15 euros. If you’d prefer to bring your own towel, there are several free areas available.
From the pier located to the right of the beach, you can go on a boat trip to Sithonia. If you’d rather stay close by, check out Glarokavos beach in Kassandra. It’s well-known for its lake with seawater. You can also visit Hanioti, Pefkohori, and Polychrono, all located near Ksenia beach, and explore their shops, taverns, and beaches.
The beach is 114 km from the city of Thessaloniki and 5 km from the well-known holiday destination of Pefkohori. There is a bus station Xenia located close to the beach that provides services to Paliuri. It runs roughly 8 times daily from Halkidiki bus station and the cost is around 14 euros.
Ksenia beach is jammed with people in July and August, but in September the number of tourists drops. If you are looking for some rest and relaxation, we recommend coming on a weekday (morning hours). This beach also hosts the famed Halkidiki camping which has all the necessary amenities. You can stay here for a few days to really enjoy the peace and quiet!
