Sani is located on the western coast of the Kassandra peninsula in Halkidiki, around eighty kilometers from Thessaloniki. The drive from the city takes about an hour, making it a convenient getaway for travelers arriving through the international airport of Macedonia. The resort spans nearly a thousand hectares, including a protected ecological reserve with pine forests and olive groves. Its proximity to a major city and airport makes it easily accessible, while the vast area helps guests enjoy a relaxed atmosphere even in peak season.
Sani’s main natural attraction is its pristine beaches, stretching for about seven kilometers and awarded the Blue Flag for cleanliness and safety. The soft sandy shores and shallow waters make them ideal for families with young children. Sunbeds, umbrellas, and beach bars are available along the coast, and a wide range of watersports is offered—everything from paddleboarding to jet skiing.
On a hill where the ancient acropolis of Sani once stood, there is a well-preserved watchtower built in 1543 by monks from the Stavronikita Monastery on Mount Athos. Known as the Stavronikita Tower, it was part of a defensive network and still stands in remarkable condition. Every summer, the area around the tower hosts the internationally renowned Sani Festival, featuring live music performances and art exhibitions.
About five kilometers from the tower, in the Kipsa Megali area, visitors can explore the remains of a Roman-era villa. The site includes foundations of the house, pottery workshops, floor mosaics, and fragments of marble architecture. Discovered in 1972, the ruins offer an interesting stop for archaeology enthusiasts.
The resort itself is home to several luxury hotels, including Sani Beach, Sani Club, Sani Dunes, Porto Sani, and Sani Asterias. Guests can choose from standard rooms to suites with private pools. More than twenty restaurants and bars operate across the resort, serving both traditional Greek dishes and international cuisine. With the “Dine Around” program, visitors can enjoy a variety of dining experiences at different venues.
There’s no shortage of activities for active travelers—tennis courts, the Chelsea FC Football Academy, and the Sani Treetop Adventure ropes course are all on offer. Watersports fans can go diving, sailing, or snorkeling. The resort also features five full-service spas, offering treatments aimed at total relaxation and rejuvenation.
Families with children are well catered for, with age-specific kids’ clubs starting from just four months old. Adults can join yoga, pilates, and meditation classes. Evenings are filled with outdoor entertainment, including theatrical shows and live concerts. For convenience, there’s a supermarket, a pharmacy, and 24-hour medical services on-site.
Sani Marina is the resort’s private harbor, accommodating up to 215 yachts. It's equipped with modern facilities and offers yacht rental services. The area surrounding the marina is lined with designer boutiques, jewelry stores, and waterfront restaurants.
For those interested in nature, Sani also offers eco-friendly excursions. You can go birdwatching in the Sani Wetlands, home to nearly half of all bird species found in Greece. There are also guided walks through the olive groves, where you can learn about traditional olive oil production.
