Nea Flogita is a seaside village on the Halkidiki Peninsula, located between the towns of Nea Kallikratia (18 km) and Nea Moudania (6 km), on the southwestern coast. It is approximately 52 km from Thessaloniki and 45 km from Thessaloniki International Airport, "Macedonia." You can reach Nea Flogita from Thessaloniki by taking a KTEL bus that departs every 45 minutes from the KTEL Halkidiki bus station.
The village was founded in 1923 by refugees from Cappadocia and has around 1,500 residents, with the population increasing significantly during the summer months due to tourism. Nea Flogita is known for its long sandy beach lined with 600 palm trees and its clean waters, making it a popular destination for families with children.
The village offers a variety of accommodation options, from hotels to rental apartments and villas, catering to tourists of all types. Along the beach, there are numerous tavernas, cafes, bars, and nightclubs serving traditional Greek cuisine and offering entertainment for all ages. There are also football and basketball stadiums, a municipal sports ground, and a small swimming pool.
Cultural attractions include the Church of St. George, the patron saint of Flogita, and the Byzantine Cultural Center "Justinian," dedicated to the Roman emperor known for his fortifications in Halkidiki.
The beach in Flogita is awarded the Blue Flag for its cleanliness and facilities. For children, there are inflatable trampolines, attractions, and a large playground. Local establishments provide sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach, allowing guests to relax by the sea in comfort.
