Paliouri is a small traditional village located near the very tip of the Kassandra Peninsula, surrounded by forested hills, 122 km from Thessaloniki. The village has a few grocery stores with essential goods and several tavernas serving fresh local dishes. There are no major historical landmarks in Paliouri, and the only church in the village is closed to visitors. However, 8 km away, on the way to the edge of Kassandra, stands the Church of Saint Nicholas. Glarokavos, a beach north of Chrousso, is less crowded, with a mix of sand and pebbles and a steeper water entry. Nearby is a saltwater lagoon of the same name, used as a docking area for boats. Swimming in the lagoon is not allowed, but its scenic beauty attracts visitors. The beach also features a diving center offering underwater excursions.
